LouwSon Energy will showcase a selection of natural gas CHP engines to rent or buy at HortiContact 2022, protecting growers of all sizes and budgets against price hikes and maximising plant growth.
European gas prices at the Dutch TTF hub rise by 330% in 2021[1] and growers have faced price increases for CO2 – essential to promoting crop growth in greenhouses – as a result of a UK shortage of the gas spreading into Europe.
Supporting greenhouse owners and growers in the face of these issues, Roland Louwsma, Managing Director of LouwSon Energy, says: “Our CHP engines range from 100kw to 1MW offering solutions for every grower. Flexible purchasing options include used engines and the choice to rent or buy, making on-site power generation accessible to all.”
Four key benefits of LouwSon’s CHP engines:
- Home-grown energy – enabling growers to secure their energy supply and fix long-term costs.
- CO2 production – by capturing the CO2 in engine exhaust gas, growers can mitigate against supply shortages and price hikes.
- Free heat – another by-product of power generation, excess heat can be captured and used on-site.
- Additional income – by selling surplus power back to the grid, CHPs represent a lucrative revenue stream for growers.
Every engine supplied by LouwSon Energy comes with an open-access control panel as standard, including remote CHP access, smart performance monitoring and intelligent diagnostics. With a year’s technical support provided free of charge, LouwSon also offers a suite of additional servicing options, including all parts and labour. Find out more on Stand M141.
